Giving To GLM

Thank you for making a difference to our school.  Your help is especially needed this school year.

2021/22 Friends of GLM Fund

Throughout this school year, GLM has remained open despite the pandemic and committed to as much consistent, daily, on-campus learning for as many students as possible. However, due to very strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols, we needed to reduce our school enrollment by close to 25%.  Our priority all along has been to ensure student and staff health, safety and well-being, as well as to support our working families. Thankfully, due to our capital reserve we have been able to continue to operate. Therefore this year, by giving unrestricted gifts, you will help to offset our financial loss.

Matching Gifts:

Don’t miss the opportunity to double your gift! Many employers offer to match employee gifts to non-profit organizations up to 200%. Please check with your company to see if it offers matching gifts or contact our office to let us know if we can assist you in this process. Remember gifts from spouses and retirees may also be eligible.

We happily accept donations via transfer of stock or mutual funds. Please contact nancy@grandlakemontessori.com for details & instructions.

Fundraising at GLM

Like any school, Grand Lake Montessori has a unique story. Ours began in 1978 as a one room classroom in the Lake Park Methodist Church basement. Many chapters later, it is now a thriving Montessori learning community on almost two acres of urban land. This is in great part due to the vision of our founder, Helen Campbell, as well as all of the dedicated parent volunteers, who in the beginning were needed for daily, hands-on help to operate our school. As GLM has grown into the well established toddler-through-elementary school it is today, we look to continue our treasured parent partnership, as well as find new ways to support its ongoing life, making it an even better place to be and belong.

As a 40+ year old non-profit serving hard working Bay Area families, GLM has historically not made big asks of our parents in terms of fundraising. However, tuition alone cannot cover the rising costs of maintaining and improving our beautiful environment or provide the much needed funding to support our Financial Aid program. We are, therefore, extremely grateful for any and all gifts of support to our school, whether it be from our school families, grandparents, friends or other fans and benefactors of GLM. These generous contributions enhance school life for students, families and staff, both today and into the future.
