Nido (Infant) House Manager

Pay: $29.00 – $36.00 per hour

Job description:

Grand Lake Montessori is now hiring a dynamic and experienced Infant House Manager for our campus in Oakland, CA!

This is a full-time position (9:00-6:00) with an average of 40 hours per week.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Montessori Training preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a teacher required.

Description:

The Nido House Manager serves as the primary floating teacher within the Nido House, providing hands-on support to each infant classroom throughout the day. This role ensures continuity of care, maintains classroom quality, and supports teachers in meeting the needs of children and families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Float between infant classrooms throughout the day to provide instructional and operational support.
  • Step into classrooms as needed to maintain licensing ratios and ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist teachers during peak activity periods, including arrivals, departures, feeding times, diapering routines, transitions, and nap supervision.
  • Model Montessori infant practices and demonstrate best practices in caregiving and classroom management.
  • Observe classroom dynamics and provide immediate coaching and support to staff.
  • Provide coverage for breaks, lunches, meetings, and unexpected staff absences when necessary.
  • Assist with preparing classroom environments, materials, and daily routines.
  • Support children with individualized care while maintaining consistency across the Nido House.
  • Ensure classrooms remain calm, organized, and responsive to the developmental needs of infants.
  • Be readily available to respond to operational needs across all infant classrooms.
